Brief Description
Colour lithograph of cricket at Tonbridge School in Kent, showing school boys and spectators in the foreground, a cricket match being played on the right side of the picture, and school buildings and the town of Tonbridge beyond. The cricketers' clothes are typical of the mid-nineteenth century - trousers, waistcoats and top hats - and the school boys to the left side of the image are in uniform that includes mortar boards. Printed l.l. below image "C.T. Dodd Pinxt; W.L. Walton, Litho.". Printed below the image, l.c., is the title "The Cricket Match, Tonbridge School. / Published by C. Tattershall Dodd, Tonbridge Wells". Printed below image l.r., "Printed by Hullmandel & Walton". The print is loosely housed in a modern window mount.
