Object Detail

Brief Description
Watercolour painting of a cricket match, with young cricketers in the foreground, and a large gothic building with Union Jack flying from it on the other side of the playing field. The scene shows Tonbridge School (an English private school), as some of the boys in the foreground are wearing blazers, presumably uniforms. There are also older men who may be school masters. The cricket match seems to have stopped as the fielders wait for a new batsman to arrive at the crease. The watercolour is after an original work by F P Barraud c1890. The painting is loosely mounted behind green coloured card.
