Object Detail
Brief Description
Original Robert Ingpen watercolour depicting Australian cricket all-rounder (and Australian Rules footballer), Keith Miller (1917-2004). The artist's image number - 83 - and subject's name and country are handwritten below the design, with the pencilled years '1946-57'. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. In 55 Tests, Miller scored 2958 runs at an average of 36.97, and took 170 wickets at 22.97. He also played 50 games and kicked 42 goals for the St Kilda Football Club (1940-42, 1946). In 1996, Miller was an inaugural inductee into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame.
