Object Detail

Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Australian Rules footballer, Greg 'Diesel' Williams, in the red and white colours of the Sydney Swans. The artist's original image number - 152 - and subject's name and club are handwritten below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which has been signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. Wiiliams played 34 games for Geelong Football Club (1984-85); 107 games for Sydney (1986-91) - as depicted in Ingpen's image - where he won his first Brownlow Medal; and, 109 games for Carlton (1992-97) where he won his second Brownlow.
