Brief Description
Original Robert Ingpen watercolour depicting Australian Rules footballer, Walter Henry "Dick" Lee (1899-1968). The artist's image number - 39 - and subject's name and club are handwritten in the left margin of the design, with the pencilled year '1914'. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. Lee played 230 games and kicked 707 goals for Collingwood FC (1906-1922), and was a member of the Premiership sides of 1910, 1917 and 1919. He was the leading goal kicker in the Victorian Football League 10 times, and represented Victoria 19 times.
