Object Detail
Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Hugh Trumble (1867-1938), Victorian and Australian cricketer, and secretary of the Melbourne Cricket Club from 1911 to his death in 1938. The artist's original image number - 31 - and subject's name are handwritten in ink below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist. Trumble's image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the Melbourne Cricket Ground. In 2004, Trumble was inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame.
