Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Kevin Muscat, Australian soccer player, scoring a penalty goal in a World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay at the MCG in November 2001. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The artist's original image number (189) and title 'PENALTY GOAL SHOT' are included in handwritten text below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with the grid references for the layout of the tapestry, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist.
