Brief Description
Full-length caricature portrait of Reginald Herbert Spooner (cricketer) in cricket whites and batting pads, against a light blue background. Spooner is holding a cricket bat in his right hand. He wears a white shirt with sleeves rolled to the forearm, white pants, white shoes, and a green cap. His signature is reproduced at lower right of the image, and the pseudonym of the artist Leslie 'Spy' Ward is printed above. Below the image is printed, "Reggie"; l.l. the 'Bemrose Dalziel Ltd., Watford & London, above left "VANITY FAIR Supplement"; and above right the date. Hinge-mounted on white foam board with cream window mount. Spooner was Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1905.
