Brief Description
Wooden cricket bat with twine bound handle with remnants of rubber grip, and sealed, spliced blade. Imprinted on the face is the maker's mark, and IMPERIAL DRIVER / SELECTED WILLOW. On the back is an imprint which reads GRADIDGE, and a black label with bat care instructions. In the upper left hand corner is a handwritten inscription which reads in part TO JOHN [....] WITH KIND REGARDS AND ALL GOOD WISHES / B BARNETT. Approximately 50 handwritten ink signatures are inscribed on the bat, of both English and Australian players from circa 1940's.
