Brief Description
Colour slide printed on plastic with a square, card surround. The picture was taken at the Melbourne Cricket Ground during the opening ceremony of the 1956 Olympic Games. The viewpoint is from the north of the ground, looking over the track and playing field towards the Southern Stand. On the playing field are a marching band wearing dark uniforms and white pith helmets.
