Brief Description
Colour slide printed on plastic with a square, card surround. The picture was taken in the Melbourne Cricket Ground during the 1956 Olympic Games, and shows the electronic scoreboard next to the Southern Stand. Posted on the scoreboard are the results of the 20 kilometre walk, in which the Soviet Union took first, second and third place. Three red Soviet Union flags are flying from poles on top of the scoreboard.
