Brief Description
Colour slide printed on plastic with a square, card surround. The picture shows the Melbourne Cricket Ground during the 1956 Olympic Games, and the viewpoint is from the east of the stadium, with the Grey Smith Stand, the Member's Pavilion and Northern Stand visible. On the field, a throwing event is taking place, perhaps discus. A number of officials are gathered and blue markers have been set out.
