Brief Description
Colour slide printed on plastic with a square, card surround. The picture was taken in the Melbourne Cricket Ground during the 1956 Olympic Games. The viewpoint is from the northeast of the stadium, looking over the playing field and running track, with the Member's Pavilion on the left side. The smoke from a starter's gun is hanging in the air, and a group of runners have just left their starting blocks.
