Brief Description
Colour slide printed on plastic with a square, card surround. The picture shows the interior of the Melbourne Cricket Ground during the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. The viewpoint is from the north of the ground, looking over the playing field, where a set of goalposts are set up. The Greek and Italian (or French) flags are flying from poles on the scoreboard behind. The corner of the Grey Smith Stand visible on the right, and the Southern Stand on the far side.
