Brief Description
Colour slide printed on plastic with a square, card surround. The picture shows a group of five women, all wearing dark tracksuits with a map of Australia on one side, standing outdoors with an avenue of flags in the background. It was taken at the entrance to the Olympic Village during the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. The athletes are identified by writing along the top edge of the slide that reads "Shirley, Mary, June / Erica, Norma at Main Entrance", and below "SHIRLEY COTTON, MARY BREEN, JUNE / HEATH, ERICA WILLIS, NORMA AUSTIN".
