Brief Description
Colour slide printed on plastic with a square, card surround. The picture was taken indoors and shows three women using a mangle to wash clothes. The women are identified as Australian athletes Shirley Cotton, Mary Breen and Norma Croker, and the setting is the Olympic Village during the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. Along the top edge of the slide is written "Washing Day / Shirley Mary Norma / SHIRLEY COTTON, MARY GREEN".
