Brief Description
Colour slide printed on plastic with a square card surround. The picture was taken during the 1956 Olympic Games, and shows an athlete wearing a tracksuit throwing a discus on an open playing field. The athlete is standing in a concrete circle, and there is a wire fence behind, through which four figures are observing. Along the top edge of the slide is written "Shirley COTTON Throwing / Discus".
