Colour slide printed on plastic with a square card surround. The picture was taken during the 1956 Olympic Games, and shows the inside of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, looking over an uncovered stand which is full of spectators, towards a scoreboard which has the results of the 1500 metres final posted on it. The flags of the winning runners' countries - Ireland, Germany and Austria - are flying over the scoreboard. Written in pencil on the upper edge of the slide is "1500 metres / scoreboard".
