Brief Description
Colour transparency printed on plastic with a square card surround. The picture was taken during the 1956 Olympic Games, and shows the inside of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, looking from a stand over the playing surface. In the foreground is the running track, with a group of long distance runners approaching the viewer. Several officials are standing around the track. In the background is the covered Southern Stand with flags flying along the roof.
