Brief Description
Trophy, comport, silver and glass; presented to William Bruce by the Melbourne Cricket Club in 1884. Silver triangular base, three posts extending to support a frosted glass dish, on the centre of which an elongated frosted glass flute with silver base sits. Ornate decorations on base include rams heads and hooves at top and bottom of posts, free-standing deer facing right, engraved inscription: "PRESENTED / By the / MELBOURNE CRICKET CLUB / To W. Bruce Esq. / TO COMMEMORATE HIS HAVING MADE / THE HIGHEST SCORE ON RECORD IN THE AUSTRALIAN COLONIES / 328 NOT OUT. M.C.C. v. HOTHAM C.C. / 19th 26th JANUARY. 1884.".
