Brief Description
White souvenir towel from the 1956 Olympic Games that has a faded colour image on the front. Beneath the Olympic rings is the image of a man running wearing yellow and green running attire. He is carrying an Olympic torch. The image is in the middle of an outline of Australia, which is surrounded by a laurel wreath. A red dot represents where Melbourne is on the map. Beneath this image is that of a stadium that has the text "MELBOURNE / 1956 / XVI OLYMPIAD" printed on it. In the lower left corner is a manufacturers label that is faded and almost illegible. On lower edge of reverse is handwritten text.
