Brief Description
A gold metallic badge. Upon a red enamel background, features the logo for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. The symbol, situated above the Olympic rings, comprises an arrangement of several letter 'C''s (representing 'Calgary' and 'Canada'), forming what could be seen as either a stylised snowflake, or, Canada's national emblem, the maple leaf. Below is the inscription: 'Calgary '88'. On the back is the inscription: 'COA 1979/ARTISS-REGINA/TAIWAN'. This badge was presented to Australian Gallery of Sport and Olympic Museum director, Tom McCullough, during the 2nd World Meeting of Sports Museum Directors, held at Lausanne, Switzerland, June 1989.
