Brief Description
A metallic badge. Upon a blue background is the image of a stone altar with a red-coloured ceremonial fire on top. On the face of the altar is the logo of the C.O.C., comprising the Cypriot national coat-of-arms with the Olympic rings below. Above the flaming altar are the initials 'OAK', the acronym for the [Ethnikes] Olympiakes Akadhemias Kyprou, or, Cyprus [National] Olympic Academy. This badge was presented to Australian Gallery of Sport and Olympic Museum director, Tom McCullough, during the 2nd World Meeting of Sports Museum Directors, held at Lausanne, Switzerland, June 1989.
