Brief Description
An envelope used to house tickets for the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, purchased from the Myer Emporium in Melbourne. On the outside of the cover is the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games emblem, flanked by the emblem of the Myer Emporium, to the left, and the coat-of-arms of the City of Melbourne, to the right. The text reads: 'THIS SOUVENIR ENVELOPE CONTAINS/YOUR RESERVATIONS FOR THE OLYMPIC GAMES/NOVEMBER 22 DECEMBER 8'. On the inside of the cover is a printed message from the Myer Emporium. On the outside of the pocket is the text: 'XVI/OLYMPIAD/1956/MELBOURNE', flanked by two koalas, and crowned by the Olympic rings emblem. The back of the envelope features the text: 'WITH THE COMPLIMENTS OF THE MYER EMPORIUM LTD.'.
