Brief Description
A souvenir envelope. On the front of the cover is the inscription: 'THIS SOUVENIR ENVELOPE CONTAINS/YOUR RESERVATIONS FOR THE OLYMPIC GAMES/NOVEMBER 22 DECEMBER 8'. Inscription is surrounded by the coats-of-arms of the Myer Emporium, and the Melbourne City Council, with the 1956 Melbourne Olympics logo situated in-between. Printed on the underside of the cover is an Olympic message from the Myer Emporium. On the outside of the pocket is the inscription: 'XVI/OLYMPIAD/1956/MELBOURNE', which is flanked by two koalas, and crowned with the Olympic rings. Inscription on the back of the envelope reads: 'WITH COMPLIMENTS OF THE MYER EMPORIUM LTD.'.
