Brief Description
An envelope issued by the Myer Emporium, used to contain tickets to the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games which were purchased from the store. On front cover are featured the Myer and Melbourne City Council coats-of-arms, flanking the design logo for the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. Inscription, on front: 'THIS SOUVENIR ENVELOPE CONTAINS/YOUR RESERVATIONS FOR THE OLYMPIC GAMES/NOVEMBER 22 DECEMBER 8'. When opened, a message from the Myer management is printed on the underside of the cover. On the front of the pocket is an image of the Olympic rings, with the inscription, flanked by two koalas: 'XVI/OLYMPIAD/1956/MELBOURNE'. Inscr. on back: 'WITH THE COMPLIMENTS OF THE MYER EMPORIUM LTD.'.
