Brief Description
Bronze-coloured, commemorative medallion from the Melbourne Olympic Games. The medallion features the Olympic rings, a kangaroo and the shield of the City of Melbourne. Stamped lettering around the upper margin reads 'OLYMPIC GAMES MELBOURNE/ 1955'. The reverse features a figure carrying a flag bearing the Olympic rings, pairs of figures 'walking' around the margin of the medal, and the Olympic motto 'CITIUS ALTIUS FORTIUS'.
