Brief Description
A souvenir programme for the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. features colour illustration of a flaming Olympic torch planted on the location of Melbourne on a map of Australia. Olympic rings feature behind the flame. Inscr: 'SOUVENIR PROGRAMME / OLYMPIC GAMES / MELBOURNE / AUSTRALIA. 22 Nov - 8 Dec. 1956 / PRICE ONE SHILLING'. Front cover is obscured by a blue visitor's pass taped to the upper left. It is dated to 18 Nov 1956, and was used to visit the USA team at the Olympic Village.
