A 32-page (cover exclusive) programme. The green cover features on the front, a central colour photo image of the Melbourne city skyline from the banks of the Yarra River. Below the Olympic rings emblem, at the top of the cover, is the inscription: 'OLYMPIC GAMES/MELBOURNE 1956/OPENING/CEREMONY/MAIN STADIUM (Melbourne Cricket Ground)/THURSDAY NOVEMBER 22nd 1956 at 3.00 p.m./Official Souvenir Programme/TWO SHILLINGS'.
