Brief Description
Postcard of a poster, unused. A full-colour facsimile of the first of four 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games posters. Designed by Yusaku Kamekura, this work incorporated the use of state-of-the-art colour photogravure. A minimalist graphic design, it features a golden olympic rings emblem crowned by a large red circle. This represents the Rising Sun, the national symbol of Japan. The logotype, in gold, situated below reads: 'TOKYO 1964'.
