Brief Description
A postcard of a poster. Using purple, blue, green, and white, the design features many interweaving, tent-like structures. These represent the tent roof of the Olympic Stadium, as well as the roofs of other buildings within the Olympic Park complex. An illustration of the Olympic Tower is featured in this design. The poster implies the unity of all nations under the umbrella of Olympism, which is also implied in the architecture of the Olympic Park buildings. Hence, this poster is known as the "Zeitdach" poster. 'Zeitdach' roughly translates as "temporary roof". Inscription: 'Munchen 1972 26.8.-10.9.'. The Munich Olympic Games "Spirale" emblem also features. Designed by Otl Aicher, this poster was reproduced as a postcard by the I.O.C. in 1985.
