Brief Description
Postcard of a poster. Design comprises of a stylized snowflake, on a blue field, containing the olympic rings emblem crowned by a star. This is the emblem of the Italian National Olympic Committee. An illustration of a large mountain outcrop overlooking a town represents the host city, Cortina d'Ampezzo. Inscription, within circumference of the snowflake, reads in Italian: 'VII GIOCHI OLIMPICI D'INVERNO/CORTINA D'AMPEZZO 1956'. Designed by Franco Rondinelli. It was reproduced as a postcard by the I.O.C. in 1984.
