Brief Description
A postcard of a poster. Pictorial design features the St. Moritz alpine region with the Piz Nair peak in the background. On the slope are a male and a female skier looking up towards a vibrant rising Sun at dawn. The Sun's rays project into the sky, from which, fall an array of multi-coloured snow flakes. At the upper right is the Swiss national shield. Counterbalancing at the lower left is the Olympic rings emblem, with the inscription below, in French: 'JEUX OLYMPIQUES D'HIVER/1948 ST. MORITZ SUISSE'. Poster was designed by Fritz Hellinger, with assistance by the photographer Keerl, and was reproduced as a postcard by the I.O.C. in 1984.
