Brief Description
A postcard of a poster. Full colour facsimilie of one of the 1928 Amsterdam Olympic Games posters. Designed by Dutch graphic artist, Jos Rovers, it features an illustration of a marathon runner, running past the Amsterdam Olympic Stadium, and a hoisted Olympic flag. The stadium features a tall tower, atop of which is a cauldron. Here was lit the first Olympic flame during an opening ceremony of a modern Olympic Games. Inscription, in French: '1928/IXE OLYMPIADE/AMSTERDAM'. It was reproduced as a postcard by the I.O.C. in 1983.
