Brief Description
A red vinyl covered cardboard stamp album, contained within a red vinyl covered cardboard slip case. The album cover features the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games emblem, an image of the Kremlin, and the title, "1980 OLYMPIC STAMP PROGRAM". The title page reads, "OLYMPIAD-80 / MOSCOW / THE OFFICIAL FIRST DAY COVER COLLECTION". The first half of the document contains a comprehensive history of the Modern Olympics, with reports of each Olympic Games from 1896 to 1976. The first day cover collection follows, featuring all the covers issued by the USSR Government, for the 1980 Olympic Games. Featured covers series include: 'The Olympic Flame', '1980 Olympic Symbol', 'Olympic Golden Cities', and 'Olympic Sports'.
