Brief Description
Circular bronze medallion awarded to Brighton Diggins. The medallion is inscribed with "ROYAL LIFE SAVING SOCIETY" and "AWARD OF MERIT". It is adorned with a wreath pattern around the edge and depicts an oar and a rescue hook arranged in an X shape and tied with a bow in the center. Reverse has central inscription "AWARDED/ TO/ B. DIGGINS/ V/ 1942" and an inscription in the border reading "QUEMCUNQUE MISERUM VIDERIS HOMINEM SCIAS". A stamped maker's mark reads "K. C. LUKE" and "STC SH".
