Brief Description
Photograph album depicting Australian athletes at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, assembled by Doris Carter OBE. The album is covered by cream coloured book cloth, embossed with "Olympia/ 1936" in bronze ink and tied with a brown rope through the spine. The album has twenty five black card pages with 214 photographs adhered and some handwritten descriptions written in white ink. Pages are interwoven with spider web patterned tissue paper. Photographs depict various people and places such as Fraunheim, Reichssportfeld, Hitler Youth members rehearsing for Opening Ceremony, Pat Norton, Kitty MacKay, Helga Bornstedt, Jeanette Gamble, Evelyn De Lacy, Doris Carter, Harry Nightingale, Berlin Olympic Stadium, Bill Kendall, Percy Oliver and Ron Masters.
