Brief Description
Seven tickets for track and field events at the Main Stadium (Melbourne Cricket Ground), during the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. Four brown and purple tickets for seating locations D6/E/10-13, are for events on Saturday 24 November. Three blue and pink tickets for seating locations D6/E/1-3 are for events on Saturday 1 December. A diagram of the Stadium seating arrangements features across the back of each ticket. The original souvenir envelope within which the tickets were purchased also features. Emblemata featured across the front of the flap are: the Myer Emporium emblem (the store from which the tickets were purchased), the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games emblem, and the City of Melbourne coat-of-arms.
