Medal awarded to John Birnie Marshall, USA v Japan 3rd Dual Swimming Meet, Tokyo 1950. Round silver medal with ring atop. Affixed to enamelled badge with coloured ribbon. The medal features a flying fish in the centre with engraved text around the rim. Enamelled badge features the American and Japanese flags. Ribbon is light green with gold stripes and two silver Japanese symbols painted on the surface.
