Brief Description
Group of five medals with bars and ribbons won by John Birnie Marshall for swimming events from 1950 - 1951. Awarded by the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States. They consist of four gold and one bronze medal each with a bar and ribbon. They feature a female figures on one side and an engraved inscription on the reverse. The bars reads: "CHAMPIONSHIP". Red, blue and white striped ribbons are attached to four of the medals and a dark blue ribbon to the remaining one. Three are pinned to felt covered support boards and one is in a blue cardboard case.
