Brief Description
Sterling silver cup, no handles; a crest engraved on one side of vessel features a wreath and a shield onto which is engraved a cross and crown and 4 additional images including a ship a fish and a cow (?); below the crest is the Latin phrase "VIRES / ACQUIRIT / ENDUO" . Engraving on the alternate side of the cup reads "MELBOURNE AMATEUR REGATTA / Junior Eight / won by / MERCANTILE R.C. / J.A GREENSHIELDS N4 / 1926".
