Brief Description
A sticker featuring the emblem for the Melbourne 1996 Olympic Games Bid, designed by Ken Cato. It is a stylised flame, with blue, black, red, yellow, and green licks, reflecting the five Olympic colours. Text below reads: 'OLYMPICS FOR/MELBOURNE/1996/A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY FOR AUSTRALIA'. Sticker was handed out during the "Decision Dinner", held at the World Congress Centre on 18 September 1990, the day when the I.O.C. President was to announce the winner to host the 1996 Games. The winner was the U.S. city of Atlanta.
