Brief Description

"Australia's Olympic pioneer who won the 800 and 1500 metres events at the First Modern Games in Athens in 1896. Flack nearly made it a treble in the marathon, succumbing to exhaustion just short of the line in a valiant effort that accorded him hero status in Greece."
