Brief Description
Flag, large; from the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games; consisting of four cream (unbleached cotton) panels sewn together; cotton Olympic Rings in red, blue, yellow, green, black sewn in. Reinforced corners and edges; cotton rope rigging; cotton binding. Woollen panel sewn onto lower edge (verso), with following red embroidered inscription: "XVIth OLYMPIAD / THIS FLAG WAS FLOWN AT // MELBOURNE OLYMPIC GAMES Nov 1956 / PRESENTED BY WorBRO CURNOW".
