Object Detail
Brief Description
Small framed unglazed oil on wood painting that depicts the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in 2001. This view of the MCG includes the 1928 Members Pavilion Building in the centre with the 1967 Ponsford (Western) Stand to the left and the Olympic Stand to the right. Australian cricketers can be seen on the ground as they are wearing baggy green caps. The view is the commencement of play looking towards the Northern side of the ground and it was commissioned to commemorate the last Test match prior to the demolition of the three stands for the MCG Redevelopment of 2002-2006. This is a study for the final work - M10114.
