Brief Description
A 6-page letter written by Australian boxer, Les Harley, to his family in Melbourne, in the wake of competing with the Australian Olympic Team at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games. The letter was written over 3 1/2 weeks and chronicles his journey on the P&O SS 'Mooltan', from London to Colombo via the Bay of Biscay (Spain), Gibraltar, Tangiers (Morocco), Marseilles (France), Malta, Port Said (Egypt), Aden (Yemen), and Bombay (India). From Colombo, the 'Mooltan' continued to Fremantle, and finally to Port Melbourne.
