Brief Description
A photo of Australian sprinter, Winsome Cripps, having alighted from her plane at Essendon Airport, after competing for Australia in sprint events at the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games. Cripps is sitting above the shoulders, and is surrounded by members of the nine Melbourne women's athletic clubs affiliated with the V.W.A.A.A., who had stormed the barriers when the plane arrived, and carried Cripps off the tarmac.
