Brief Description
Black and white photographic postcard signed by R. L. Bates. Features an Italian policeman in 1875 on a Penny Farthing bicycle. He wears a cap with chin strap, is sporting a long moustache and is dressed in a dark uniform which features braid stripes on the sleeves. He rides with one hand in his pocket and on his feet are white spats. Hand writing on reverse: "With/ Compliments/ Tom McCullock/ from / R.L. Bates/ Italian/ Policeman 1975.".
