Brief Description
A four-page invitation card. The front cover features the emblem for the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, being a flaming Olympic torch planted on a map of Australia in the location of Melbourne. Inscription surrounding Olympic emblem reads: 'J. Y. P. A./Olympic Eve/Ball/Ormond Hall/Wednesday, 21st November, 1956'. On the lower right of the back "autographs" cover, is the invitation number '150'. The inside features the list of hosts and hostesses, and the invitation proper. The J.Y.P.A. emblem also features, above the invitation details. It is comprised of a wreathed Star of David, surrounded by sporting, entertainment, and fraternal motifs. The central hexagon within the Star features a tree, with the acronym 'JYPA' in front. At the base of the emblem is a scroll with the motto: 'In Strength We Progress'.
