Front cover features a raised design, comprising of the City of Melbourne coat-of-arms, crowning the Olympic Rings emblem. Inside is an adhered paper document, partially covered by a clear plastic sheet, with the Olympic Rings and a flame printed on it, and the text: 'XVITH OLYMPIAD/MELBOURNE. AUSTRALIA. 1956'. The document is an invitation intended to be sent to all countries with National Olympic Committees to participate in the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.
